A: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

TYEGD promotes gender equality and social inclusion by addressing harmful cultural practices, discrimination, and systemic barriers that limit the participation and well‑being of women, girls, and other marginalized groups. Through community dialogues, legal awareness, gender‑based violence (GBV) prevention, and leadership strengthening, TYEGD empowers communities to uphold human rights and ensure equitable participation in decision‑making processes. Gender equality and social inclusion are treated as cross‑cutting priorities across all TYEGD programs, ensuring that women and girls are intentionally reached and meaningfully included in every intervention. The organization places strong emphasis on economic empowerment, supporting women and girls with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to actively engage in economic activities, improve their livelihoods, and achieve their social and economic goals. Together, these efforts contribute to building safe, inclusive, and resilient communities where everyone can thrive.

What do they face?

Women and girls still face GBV, limited access to justice, harmful cultural practices, and economic exclusion. Marginalized youth and people with disabilities remain underrepresented in governance and services.

TYEGD provides SRHR education, life skills, civic engagement training, vocational skills, nutrition and WASH awareness, HIV prevention and care, mental health support, and youth-friendly services. The focus is to empower youth as leaders, innovators, and agents of positive change in their communities
