About TYEGD
Tanzania Youth Espouse for Gender and Development (TYEGD) is a youth‑led, non‑profit organization established in 2015 and officially registered in August 2017 under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002 (Registration No. 00NGO/0009374). TYEGD operates primarily in the Mara and Mwanza Regions of Tanzania, working to improve the health, well‑being, and livelihoods of communities, with a strong emphasis on women and youth.
TYEGD focuses on training, advocacy, economic empowerment, and access to innovation across critical development sectors, including agriculture, environmental protection, education, health, and gender equality and social inclusion. The organization delivers its programs through practical training workshops, community dialogues, advocacy and social awareness campaigns, conferences, and the promotion of innovative and digital solutions that respond to local needs.
All TYEGD initiatives are guided by three strategic thematic areas: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI); Youth Empowerment through Education and Health; and Agriculture, Livelihoods and Environmental Protection. Through these focus areas, TYEGD supports inclusive participation, builds resilience, and empowers communities to drive sustainable and locally owned development.
Our goal is to empower youth to drive healthier, more equitable, and resilient communities through education, advocacy, and innovation.
