Empowering Women, Girls, and Marginalized Groups
TYEGD places gender equality and social inclusion at the core of all its interventions, ensuring women and girls actively participate in and benefit from development processes.
We have been at front in creating a Safer, more inclusive communities with women and girls empowered to lead, earn, and influence decision making.

- Women and girls empowered with skills and resources for economic independence, increasing participation in income generating activities.
- Gender equality education integrated into 57 primary schools through Club ya Juu initiatives, shaping positive attitudes toward gender roles from an early age.
- Improved access to legal assistance, protection mechanisms, and referral systems, strengthening community response to GBV.
- 870 women coffee farmers strengthened through capacity building, leadership development, and sustainable farming practices.
Youth Empowerment Through Health & Education
Supporting Healthy, Skilled, and Confident Youth
TYEGD equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to lead productive lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
As a results we have created a Healthier, empowered youth acting as agents of positive social and economic change.

- Improved access to sexual and reproductive health information and services, benefiting over 860 adolescent girls and 450 boys.
- Increased youth utilization of health facilities due to improved awareness of SRHR and health rights.
- Youth trained under TYEGD programs actively engage in community leadership, advocacy, and peer education.
- Strengthened youth clubs promoting health, education, and leadership at community level.
- Youth supported to start income generating activities and micro enterprises, contributing to reduced unemployment and increased self reliance.
- Large scale youth engagement through initiatives such as Zijue Fursa Conferences, fostering dialogue, innovation, and opportunity.
Agriculture, Livelihoods & Environmental Protection
Building Climate Resilient Livelihoods and Food Security
TYEGD strengthens rural economies through climate smart agriculture, agribusiness development, and environmental protection.
This has resulted in more productive farms, stronger market linkages, and communities better prepared for climate change.
IMPACT HIGHLIGHTS
- 22,500+ farmers reached with improved cassava agronomy practices through the ACAI Project, resulting in higher yields and better-quality produce.
- Strengthened cassava value chains through aggregation centers, improving market access, quality control, and fair pricing
- Farmers supported with AKILIMO decision support tools, standardizing best practices and enhancing sustainability.
- Implementation of the Kilimo Thabiti Project improved cassava and maize productivity by combining climate information with good agricultural practices.
- 2,632 farmers received real time weather forecasts via SMS, enabling climate informed farming decisions.
- Enhanced adoption of sustainable and climate resilient farming practices, contributing to long term food security.
- Women farmers supported with climate adaptation tools and agribusiness skills, strengthening household incomes.
